CITIES FOR CHILDREN:
DEFENDING THE »RIGHT TO CHILDHOOD« IN THE URBAN SLUMS OF ISLAMABAD
Cities For Children, founded by Madeeha Ansari, champions the "right to childhood"—ensuring vulnerable children have the opportunity to read, play, and learn in safe environments. Their flagship program, Partners in Learning (Seekho Sikhao Saathi), is currently running at a Pehli Kiran School in an urban slum of Islamabad. Rooted in a child-to-child model enriched with playful learning, the program empowers older children from mobile communities to become learning champions for younger ones, fostering education through mentorship and shared experiences.
